Donald Trump Jr. thought he’d try and shore up the flagging political fortunes of Missouri GOP Senate candidate Eric Greitens, who was recently accused of abusing his ex-wife and children, proving that while Republicans love to say they’re pro-family, such pronouncements are little more than words.

According to Mediaite, Greitens posted a video on YouTube of him shooting guns with the former president’s son, along with a threatening message warning that liberals need to “beware.”

“Striking fear into the hearts of liberals everywhere, folks,” said Trump Jr. following a round of shots in the video, which was posted on Monday.

The two can then be seen continuing shooting in target practice.

“Liberals beware,” said Greitens, who has been accused of abusing his ex-wife Sheena Greitens and their children.

Greitens, according to his ex-wife, was a monster while they were married, and an affidavit she gave against him details some of the abuse she and her children suffered:

“This behavior included physical violence toward our children, such as cuffing our then three-year-old son across the face at the dinner table in front of me and yanking him around by his hair.

“As I became afraid of his escalation of physical violence in early June 2018, I begged Eric to tell me where his firearm was – one that he had purchased in January 2018 and subsequently concealed from me. He refused, saying that I was not being sufficiently ‘cooperative.’ I started sleeping in my children’s room simply to try and keep them safe.”

Greitens isn’t expected to win the Republican nomination for the Missouri Senate seat. Current Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt has a narrow lead in the latest polling average from RealClearPolitics.

The ex-governor has a history of questionable behavior when it comes his treatment of women.

In 2018, Greitens was forced to resign as governor after he was accused of felony invasion of privacy charges. He also later admitted he’d had an extramarital affair in 2015.

If we are indeed, as the old saying goes, the company we keep, what does it say about Donald Trump Jr. that he’s hanging out with a man as disgusting as Eric Greitens?
