There’s a lesbian couple in Disney’s new Pixar film “Lightyear,” so of course Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is complaining about it and being creepy.

The new film explores the hero that the toy version of Buzz Lightyear is based on. Some conservatives are complaining about Tim Allen not voicing Lightyear in the new movie. But Allen’s version is merely a toy that believes he is the real Buzz Lightyear, while Chris Evans is voicing the character the toy is based on. It’s not political at all, but it only makes sense if you’re not a conservative with an agenda and a need to play the victim all the time.

Now conservatives like Cruz have found something else to complain about in the film. It turns out there’s a married lesbian couple in the film who give each other a quick peck kiss. And that was enough for conservatives to turn into snowflakes.

Cruz himself had a meltdown during a podcast in which he claimed that Disney is making lesbian toys of the couple complete with genitalia.

“Now, never mind that the last time I checked, most toys are kinda androgynous — they’re usually without genitalia … ” Cruz said. “I gotta say, it’s a wild twist when Hollywood has been willing to grovel to China and let China censor its movies, to embrace anti-Americanism, to avoid any criticism of China because they want to get access to the Chinese movie market, but when it comes to their culture agenda, apparently now they’ve suddenly discovered, ‘Alright, give up the money because lesbian toys are more important.”

Keep in mind that Cruz is complaining about fictional movie characters all while his state of Texas is dealing with crises from the Uvalde school shooting to power outrages during a heatwave. He didn’t attend a single funeral of the kids who were massacred in their classroom by an AR-15.

As for his remarks, it’s pretty perverted how conservatives are obsessed with genitalia. After all, Texas and other red states are literally passing laws requiring genitalia inspections before women’s sporting events and investigations of trans kids and their parents.

But the characters in the movie are not portrayed as toys like in previous “Toy Story” films. This is a film about a human character one of those toys is based on. Plus, any toys Disney releases will not have genitalia just like every other toy sold in stores. In fact, I’m pretty sure the characters will have clothes on. Also, why is Ted Cruz inspecting the genitalia of toys?

And let’s not forget that the original “Toy Story” films featured heterosexual attractions between the male and female toys, particularly Woody and Bo-Peep. I don’t recall Cruz or any conservatives complaining about that.

This is just another attempt by conservatives to drum up outrage over a non-issue to distract from real issues such as Cruz’s involvement in the plot to overthrow democracy and the Republican Party’s refusal to help pass any piece of legislation that will lower gas prices, reduce inflation, or alleviate the baby formula shortage.

Those are real problems, but Republicans don’t care. They are only concerned about genitals and how people use them.
