Matt Schlapp, founder of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is furious that people are calling him a racist for allowing the avowedly bigoted Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, to speak to the right-wing conference even though Orbán has said he’s opposed to “race mixing.”
Specifically, Orbán, according to The Guardian, had this to say over the weekend:
“We [Hungarians] are not a mixed race … and we do not want to become a mixed race,” said Orbán on Saturday. He added that countries where European and non-Europeans mingle were “no longer nations.”
Schlapp was a guest on Real America’s Voice and told podcast host Steve Bannon:
“All these people are talking about how racist conservatives are because of immigration or that. And I was, like, how about this? How about in America we stop killing our unborn children?”
What does immigration have to do with abortion? Sounds like Schlapp is engaging in what’s known as “replacement theory,” the conservative canard that suggests Democrats want to replace “native-born” Americans with immigrants so they improve their chances of winning elections.
But Schlapp was just getting warmed up, adding:
“You know, we’re killing young unborn kids of color! More Blacks are aborted than are allowed to live. I’m not for that!
“They say that we’re the racists? Stop funding Planned Parenthood, stop funding the genocide of that young black child. I want to embrace them into our civilization! They want to give them the death sentence!”
Planned Parenthood also provides health screenings for millions of women to detect cancer, along with contraceptives that prevent pregnancy in the first place so that an abortion isn’t necessary. How convenient that Schlapp neglected to mention that.
As for black women having a higher rate of abortion than whites, that’s true because of the increased rate of unintended pregnancies. Pregnancies that could be avoided with increased access to contraceptives.
Black women are also three to four times more likely to die during childbirth, another fact Schlapp left out of his fact-free rant.
Making excuses for xenophobes like Viktor Orbán may make Schlapp feel better about himself, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s providing a platform for a disgusting racist who should be condemned by everyone who believes in equality for all.
CPAC founder Matt Schlapp says he’s being called a racist for hosting Viktor Orbán, who recently came out against “race mixing.”
