Fox News host Tucker Carlson tried his hand at comedy and shtick on his show Monday evening, mocking Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious diseases and chief medical adviser to the president, who announced his retirement earlier in the day.
Dr. Fauci, who is 81 and has served as a physician with the National Institutes of Health for more than five decades, noted in announcing his retirement:
“After more than 50 years of government service, I plan to pursue the next phase of my career while I still have so much energy and passion for my field. I want to use what I have learned as NIAID Director to continue to advance science and public health and to inspire and mentor the next generation of scientific leaders as they help prepare the world to face future infectious disease threats.”
That led Carlson to attack Fauci in an extended rant:
“Imagine the pandemonium at SoulCycle studios across the Northeast this morning when Tony Fauci announced his retirement.
“Ugly doesn’t begin to describe it. Picture the chaos, if you can, in the organic chaga aisle at Whole Foods in Brookline. Try to envision the panic and hysteria that must have broken out at espresso bars in Edgartown and Aspen and Santa Monica and Bethesda as thousands of masked ladies in Lululemon discovered, all at once, that the one religious leader they still revered, their own even tinier version of the Dalai Lama, had decided to retreat forever from public life.”
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Carlson added:
“You can picture the carnage, the wailing, the swooning, manicured hands clutched to breasts, then fumbling for Xanax and expensive handbags. Not since the orange man seized the White House in a Russian coup have more 46-year-old Cornell-educated lawyers with weak husbands wept shamelessly in public. There’s not enough rose’ in Napa to quell that pain.”

Is that supposed to be funny? Why attack a man who has devoted his life to public service and healing?
Twitter users were not amused, and they slammed Carlson.
not only are you a terrible news anchor, but you’re also not a very good comedian. choose one and focus on getting better at it.

The guy whose family got rich selling us salt and carb loaded frozen “dinners” is talking about elites like he isn’t one.

You extremists hate Fauci. He represents what you’ve lost: facts. But that doesn’t make the majority of Americans idolaters.
