Thought you’d heard all of the ludicrous reasons Republicans could possibly give when it comes to why they’re opposed to President Joe Biden’s student loan debt forgiveness plan? Well just wait until you get a load of Rep. Lauren Boebert’s (R-CO) bizarre rationale for why she doesn’t think the government should try to help others.

According to Boebert, Biden is “the one who has allowed millions to invade our southern border. He’s the one who is robbing hardworking Americans to pay for Karen’s daughter’s degree in lesbian dance theory.”

Lesbian dance theory? Really? Of course, that’s not actually a thing, but it’s typical of the absurd lies being told by many in the GOP who don’t want to see anyone but big corporations and members of Congress get taxpayer money, as the White House noted last week when it called out the Republicans in the House who gladly accepted hundreds of thousands in Paycheck Protection Program loans that were later written off by the Trump administration.

And Boebert isn’t the only one suggesting that Biden’s student loan plan is “reckless,” according to Newsweek:

Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) told Fox Business’s Maria Bartiromo on Tuesday: “If you look at the statistics of freshmen who don’t finish college but they take out student debt in order to experiment with college—if you start forgiving that first $10,000 for people, that just enhances these reckless decisions.

“We oughta have people making more thoughtful decisions and applying good economic principles, as well as their personal circumstances. Then you have fairness and a much more economically literate electorate.”

Boebert got thoroughly mocked and ridiculed for her comments.
