Lara Trump claims ‘kids have died’ because NY AG Letitia James investigated Trump Org.

Fox News contributor Lara Trump was a guest on “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning and made the absurd claim that New York Attorney General Letitia James has killed children by daring to investigate the Trump Organization, former president Donald Trump, and the three oldest Trump children, including her husband, Eric, who just so happens to be an executive vice president for the company.

Mediaite reports that Ms. Trump began by reminding viewers that James had pledged to investigate Trump’s business dealings, which led co-host Brian Kilmeade to ask:

“I know that Eric and your father-in-law took the fifth and they say that that shows, in a civil case, that you knew there were problems there. Is that how you interpret that?”

She responded:

“Well of course not. When you have some bloodthirsty individual like Letitia James who has promised to sue you, to promise to lock you up and do everything she could to take you down.”

Kilmeade:

“It’s a strategy.”

Ms. Trump:

“You know, attorneys suggest you take the fifth, of course. But this is a woman who — people may not know this, my husband started a charity to raise money for kids at St. Jude Children’s Hospital when he was 22 years old. He raised $30 million for the kids at St. Jude and Letitia James has such vitriol and hatred for anyone with the last name Trump, that she decided to investigate my husband’s charity despite the fact that it had one of the lowest expense ratios of any private charity in America. And unfortunately guess who was hurt by that? It wasn’t my husband. It’s the kids of St. Jude, who knows how many kids have died unnecessarily thanks to her investigation and her — just vitriol and hatred for anyone with the last name Trump. It’s disgusting.”

What’s even more disgusting is why James (and her predecessor, Barbara Underwood) investigated and later shut down that charity.

The Washington Post reported in 2018:

President Trump has agreed to shut down his embattled personal charity and to give away its remaining money amid allegations that he used the foundation for his personal and political benefit, New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood announced Tuesday.

Underwood said that the Donald J. Trump Foundation is dissolving as her office pursues its lawsuit against the charity, Trump and his three eldest children.

The suit, filed in June, alleged “persistently illegal conduct” at the foundation, which Trump began in 1987. Underwood is continuing to seek more than $2.8 million in restitution and has asked a judge to ban the Trumps temporarily from serving on the boards of other New York nonprofit organizations.

Yep, Donald Trump and the Donald J. Trump Foundation stole money from a cancer charity for kids. If anyone killed children, it was the ex-president, Eric, Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka.

As usual, the Trump family is playing the victim, but no one should feel the least bit sorry for them.
