Former Republican Congressman Devin Nunes of California said Sunday on Fox News that he believes Congress needs to create a commission to investigate the FBI the same way the September 11 commission looked at the attacks on the United States by terror group Al Qaeda.

Nunes told Fox host Maria Bartiromo that the country may not survive the “two-tier” justice system that he claims targets Republicans.

“One of the things that are going to have to happen is there’s going to be a commission that has not been done in a long time in Congress. It’s going to have to be created to look at all the malfeasance of the FBI that’s not just about the Russia hoax, but something that may be similar to the Church Commission, maybe like the 9/11 Commission.

“Because, look, if this doesn’t happen, the calls to disband the FBI are going to get louder and louder because, you know, half of Americans can not live in a system where one party is treated differently than the other.”

Half of Americans? Would that be the so-called “half” who think the 2020 election was stolen from ex-president Donald Trump, some of whom at one time believed that lasers from Venezuela changed ballot tabulations in battleground states?

Bartiromo then asked Nunes if there were any plans underway by GOP members of Congress to “dismantle this politicization” if they happen to win control of the House in the upcoming midterm elections.

Nunes responded:

“This is going to be the problem. The FBI is very clever about hiding in these grey areas and hiding the ball from Congress. So, look, this is a bad situation for the Republicans to be going into, but at least we have the experience, bad experience over the last five or six years. We know how to deal with these guys like never before.

“It’s going to take the full power of the Speaker and the full power of a commission to get to the bottom of what actually happened here and rewrite the course of how the FBI and the justice system should operate in this country.”

Nunes, who now serves as chief executive officer of the Trump Media & Technology Group, is just repeating the same nonsense as Trump. They’re upset because the FBI served a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago and found classified documents in the failed former president’s possession, which is a violation of federal law.

The former congressman also failed to mention that the current head of the FBI, Christopher Wray, was appointed by Trump and overwhelmingly confirmed by both Democrats and Republicans.
