To call Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) the most despised member of Congress would be a massive understatement, as was proven by a video shared on Twitter that has quickly gone viral.
Cruz decided to show up at Game Four of the American League Championship Series between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees, which was played Sunday evening at Yankee Stadium. The Astros were one game away from clinching their second consecutive invitation to the World Series.
But as Mediaite notes, Cruz wasn’t warmly welcomed by Yankees fans:
Houston defeated the Yankees 6-5, completing the four-game sweep, and the Texas Senator showed up to support his team from prime seats just rows behind home plate. As he rose to leave the stadium, the Astros fan received a hail of boos and at least one audible “you racist piece of shit!”

Jesse Angelo, President of VICE News, also caught some Yankee fans giving the Texas Republican the middle finger salute for daring to show up at the game.

Others then joined the mockery of Cruz.

Houston won the game by a score of 6-5, and will be returning to the World Series for the second year in a row. In 2021, the Astros lost to the Atlanta Braves in six games.
Game one of the 2022 Fall Classic begins Friday, October 28 in Houston.
