After last week’s embarrassing conclusion to the Dominion Voting Systems defamation case where Fox found itself agreeing to paying out almost 800 million to the voting machine company over lies it told after the 2020 election, they had to do something. Fox decided to do the same thing that the other two major cable news networks did, fire Tucker Carlson.

Carlson was let go from CNN in 2005 when the network decided to not renew his contract. Carlson later (in 2020) tried to save face claiming he “resigned” the previous April. That claim was strange considering he still was doing the show almost a year later when Carlson was informed that his contract would not be renewed and the show he was on would be canceled. Carlson was humiliated on CNN in October by Jon Stewart, who came on the debate program and dressed down the right-wing pundit.

Carlson moved on to MSNBC and remained there through 2008 when his show was canceled due to low ratings.

In 2009, Carlson was hired at Fox News. His longest tenure at any network lasted until Fox announced that he would no longer be on the network “effective immediately.”

Many believe that his departure is over the lawsuit where Carlson had a major hand in costing Rupert Murdoch’s company almost 800 million dollars.

Tucker Carlson has now been fired by all 3 major cable news networks. The triple crown. That is a (dis)honor shared by no other host in the cable news world.

Fox Media put out the following announcement on April 24th, 2023:
