Minutes after Iran fired more than a dozen ballistic missiles at Iraqi military bases that house U.S. military personnel, Fox News host Sean Hannity began calling for the “full force” of the American military to be used and suggested that President Donald Trump attack Iranian oil refineries in response to the missile attack.

A visibly enraged Hannity remarked:

“They actually think they can attack Americans and get away with it? I think they need to think again. Did they actually think that they can kill our brave men and women abroad in our embassy and get away with it? Do they think they can fund terrorism all around the globe and get away with that? Do they think they can commit economic terrorism and try and impact the free flow of the lifeblood of every economy in the world and get away with that?”

It should be noted that no U.S. service members were killed or injured in the Iranian missile attack, according to the Department of Defense, but that didn’t keep Hannity from ratcheting up the inflammatory rhetoric, knowing that the president often watches his show:

“There is a massive price to pay. You don’t get to do what they did tonight. They have now been begging ― the president wanted to talk and wants peace ― and they are going to get hit hard. Their hostility will now be met with the full force of the greatest, most advanced, most sophisticated military this world has ever seen.”

The Fox host then got very specific as to what he thought the response should be from Trump:

“Their three major refineries could soon go up in flames.

“We can report six B-52 bombers are on their way to the region.”

There has been zero confirmation of Hannity’s specious reporting of B-52 bombers being tasked to the Middle East, and talk of bombing Iranian oil refineries would only serve to draw the U.S. deeper into a shooting war with Iran. It would also cause economic disruption and send the cost of crude oil skyrocketing, which would hit Americans right in the wallet.

As usual, Sean Hannity has delusions of grandeur. He wants to believe he’s the Secretary of Defense and can call the shots, but he’s nothing but a clown with a show on Trump TV who desperately wants to be relevant.
