Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) is a veteran who lost both of her legs while serving our country in Iraq, so taking on Fox News host Tucker Carlson was a walk in the park by comparison.

During one of his shows, Carlson openly attacked Duckworth and Democrats for supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and calling for police reform and the removal of racist statues.

“You’re not supposed to criticize Tammy Duckworth in any way because she once served in the military,” Carlson said. “Most people just ignore her.”

[Duckworth] is “deeply silly and unimpressive,” Carlson continued before questioning her patriotism and that of the Democrats in general.

“These people actually hate America,” Carlson claimed without offering any evidence. “There’s no longer a question about that. And yet, paradoxically, at the same time, they desperately want to control America more than anything. And that leads to the most basic of all questions: Can you really lead a country that you hate?”

You know, Republicans often claim that they hate the government and constantly criticize it, yet they still seek public office in order to control the very government they claim to despise.

Criticizing the direction the country is going is not un-American. It’s necessary to bring about change.

But Carlson thinks anyone who criticizes the country, especially the country under Republican rule, are traitors who can’t possibly want what’s best for it.

That’s just bullsh*t, and Duckworth not only called him out for it, she did it by pointing out her sacrifice while shining a light on the fact that Carlson never spent a day in uniform putting his life on the line for our nation and the freedoms that include being able to criticize America.

People who hate America do not join the military to defend it. They don’t risk sacrificing life and limb for it. Duckworth did. If anything, it sounds like Carlson is the one who hates America and he owes Duckworth a public apology for smearing her.
