A day after a bombshell report from the New York Times reported that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is under investigation for the sex trafficking of a 17-year-old girl he allegedly had a relationship with, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) rushed to Gaetz’s defense, insisting that no one should believe what they read on the internet despite the fact that Greene has been spreading conspiracy theories and lies on social media for years.

Here’s the tweet the Georgia congresswoman sent out regarding the allegations against Gaetz:

Trump/Russia propaganda? It’s an established fact that members of Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign (including his son and campaign manager) met with Russian operatives at Trump Tower in the hope of digging up “dirt” on Hillary Clinton. It’s also clear that the former president wanted to build a hotel in Moscow and repeatedly tried to get Russian President Vladimir Putin to approve construction of such a building.

Also, former Special Counsel Robert Mueller found numerous connections between those in Donald Trump’s orbit and who were supportive of his campaign with Russia, Russian oligarchs, and Russian political leaders.

As many people reminded Taylor Greene on Twitter, if anyone is an expert on conspiracy theories, it’s her:

Here’s some advice for Marjorie Taylor Greene: You might wanna sit this one out.
