Kyle Rittenhouse has been let off the hook for murdering two people during a Black Lives Matter protest last year, so Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-Ga.) is now calling for right-wingers to be “armed and dangerous.”
After weeks of biased behavior by Judge Bruce Schroeder and the threatening presence of armed right-wingers outside the courthouse, the jury returned a verdict that failed to hold Rittenhouse accountable at all for his crimes.
Rittenhouse transported an illegally obtained assault rifle across state lines into Wisconsin where some say he pretended to play a police officer and shot two unarmed protesters, killing both of them.
Republicans have been vocally supporting Rittenhouse, with House Republicans openly vying to offer him an internship in their congressional offices.
One of those Republicans is Cawthorn, who has repeatedly incited violence against Democrats and the Biden administration since the January 6th Capitol insurrection in which Trump supporters violently stormed the building in an attempt to overthrow democracy and sought to assassinate lawmakers along the way.
Cawthorn even helped plan January 6th.
Shortly after the verdict, Cawthorn not only offered Rittenhouse an internship and bragged about the verdict, he incited violence once again by calling for right-wingers to be “armed and dangerous,” presumably because they can now expect the justice system to no longer hold them accountable.
“Kyle Rittenhouse is not guilty, my friends!” he said. “You have a right to defend yourself! Be armed, be dangerous, and be moral!”

Donald Trump once said that he could shoot someone in the middle of a crowded street and get away with it. Well, now any gun-toting right-winger can outright murder people in the middle of the street, in front of cops no less, and get away with it. This verdict sends a very threatening message. It emboldens conservatives, turns police officers into cheering accomplices, and renders the justice system into a complete and utter joke.
We can now expect to see more violent acts like this in the future. And each and every one of them will be endorsed by the political party that laughably claims to care about law and order.
