A Texas GOP congresswoman gushed about the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport receiving badly needed funding from the federal government. The problem is that she hypocritically voted against the infrastructure bill that made this funding possible.

Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-Texas) was not one of the few Republicans in the House who voted in favor of passing the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill last year. Instead, she voted against it and referred to it as “socialism” in a desperate effort to kiss up to Donald Trump. Speaking of Trump, President Joe Biden would go on to sign the bill and troll Trump for failing to pass his own infrastructure bill.

Since then, Republicans across the country have tried taking credit for the legislation even though they voted against it, only to be called out for their hypocrisy. On Thursday, Van Duyne also attempted to take credit for the legislation by touting funding to the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, funding the airport would not have received if she had had her way.

Just like the other Republicans who falsely claimed credit for the infrastructure funding, Twitter users were quick to remind Van Duyne that she voted against it.

Texans should be thanking Congressional Democrats and President Joe Biden for passing this badly needed funding, and they should be punishing Republicans for voting against it.
