When Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) received a letter from Rep. Devin Nunes’ (R-Calif.) lawyer threatening to sue him for telling the truth about him, he wrote back. And Nunes is not going to like it.

In response to Nunes being connected to Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas as part of President Donald Trump’s scheme to dig up dirt on former Vice-President Joe Biden in Ukraine, for which Trump is being impeached, Lieu noted that Nunes conspired against our government.

We know Nunes is involved in Trump’s Ukraine scandal because of phone records and text messages. Also, because Parnas implicated Nunes during his explosive interview with Rachel Maddow earlier this week.

“I was in shock when I was watching the hearings and when I saw Devin Nunes sitting up there,” Parnas said. “Because they were involved in getting all this stuff on Biden.”

Trump’s scheme was an attempt to extort a foreign government into interfering with the 2020 Election, an abuse of power and assault on democracy that absolutely makes what Lieu said about Nunes the truth.

But just as Nunes has filed lawsuits against other critics, including parody social media accounts and newspapers, for mocking him and reporting on him accurately, Nunes is now threatening to sue Lieu if he does not publicly apologize.

You see, Nunes is under the impression that his reputation has been wrongly ruined, even though he has admitted that he knows Parnas after previously lying about his contact with him or even knowing him.

Given the evidence against Nunes, Lieu had no problem responding to the threatening letter from Nunes’ lawyer by telling him to “shove it.”

Dear Mr. Biss,

I received your letter dated December 31, 2019 in which you state your client Congressman Devin Nunes will sue me if I don’t, among other actions, issue a public apology to Devin Nunes. It is true that I stated Congressman Nunes worked with Lev Parnas and conspired to undermine our own government. As you know, truth is a defense. So go read the documents and text messages provided by Lev Parnas to the House of Representatives, and watch his interview on the Rachel Maddow Show, which aired on January 15, 2020, that directly implicates Rep Nunes.

I welcome any lawsuit from your client and look forward to taking discovery of Congressman Nunes. Or, you can take your letter and shove it.

And Nunes is clearly picking a fight with someone above his weight class because Lieu served four years as a military prosecutor with the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Meanwhile, Nunes is a dairy farmer with a hack lawyer who currently has quite a workload on Nunes’ behalf for little or no pay.

Lieu knows full well that Nunes’ lawsuit would be frivolous, and that’s why he welcomes it. Because then he can humiliate Nunes in a court of law and show the world that Nunes is a liar and a traitor.
