President Donald Trump hinted last week that disgraced former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn would somehow be exonerated, and now Attorney General Bill Barr has apparently directed the DOJ to drop the case against him.

Flynn pleaded guilty to lying the FBI in court back in 2017 as part of a deal to cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation after he got caught acting as an unregistered foreign agent in the White House. But he has since used every trick in the book in an effort to wriggle out of being sentenced and serving time in prison, even withdrawing his guilty plea.

Now, with Barr in charge, it looks like the prosecutors on the case have been ordered to drop it.

The news resulted in outrage across the country, especially from legal experts.

Flynn should be behind bars. He committed crimes and pleaded guilty to those crimes. More than any other action taken by Barr, this demonstrates that the Justice Department is no longer about justice, it’s about protecting Trump and his corrupt cronies. And any self-respecting attorney who still works there should resign in protest.
