Fox News host Tucker Carlson put himself and his network in the Pentagon’s crosshairs this week by insulting the military, especially women who serve.

During one of his nightly hit jobs, Carlson attacked women in the military, particularly pregnant women, and claimed that China somehow has the edge over our own forces because they bar women from serving.

“So we’ve got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It’s a mockery of the U.S. Military. While China’s military becomes more masculine as it’s assembled the world’s largest navy, our military needs to become as Joe Biden says more feminine, whatever feminine means anymore since men and women no longer exist,” Carlson said. “The bottom line is it’s out of control, and the Pentagon is going along with this. This is a mockery of the U.S. military and its core mission, which is winning wars.”

Actually, the core mission of our military is to defend the United States and our freedom, which includes winning wars, something our military has done very well even with women serving in the ranks.

Carlson’s attack is hypocritical considering conservatives are always claiming to support the troops and the fact that he has never served a day in uniform in his life, something U.S. Space Command Senior Enlisted Leader Scott Stalker pointed out on Twitter in a viral video slamming Carlson’s remarks.

“I’ll remind everyone that his opinion, which he has a right to, is based off of actually zero days of service in the armed forces,” Stalker said. “[Carlson] was talking specifically about pregnant women in the Armed Forces today, and how it makes us less lethal and less fit and less ready — let me tell you where he’s wrong. Those decisions were made by medical professionals and commanders and our civilian leadership that allows women to have more time with their children, to recuperate, to get fit and ready, to take that time that is necessary that our medical professionals know that is needed, which actually makes us a more lethal, and ready, and fit force. We value our families in the military. Let’s remember those opinions are made by an individual who has never served a day in his life.”

Even Pentagon officials weighed in, with Department of Defense Press Secretary and retired Admiral John Kirby personally attesting to the outstanding service of women in the military, including his own wife.

“I want to be very clear right up front, that the diversity of our military is one of our greatest strengths,” Kirby said. “I’ve seen it for myself in long months at sea and in the combat waged by our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I’ve seen it up on Capitol Hill just this past month. And I see it every day here right at the Pentagon. One of the best decisions I ever made was becoming a Navy spouse myself, married to a terrific young naval officer who gave birth to our first child, and then went right back to work doing civil engineering for an air force base in Jacksonville.”

“What we absolutely won’t do is take personnel advice from a talk show host or the Chinese military,” Kirby continued. “Maybe those folks feel like they have something to prove — that’s on them. We know we’re the greatest military in the world today and even for all the things we need to improve, we know exactly why that’s so.”

Carlson has since doubled down on his attack all while playing the victim in the process.

This smear on the military demonstrates Fox News’ disdain for our troops. If they had any true respect for the men and women who put their lives on the line for our country, they would fire Carlson immediately and issue a public apology. But that’s not going to happen because Fox News is anti-America. And any sponsors who continue to run ads on Fox News are as well. Of course, this is to be expected from a network and host who supported a five-time draft dodger who repeatedly insulted our military over the last four years.
