Proving yet again that she may well be the most clueless member of Congress, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is demanding that a parody website “cease and desist” all operations because it is making fun of her in a “defamatory” manner.

You simply cannot make this kind of thing up.

Toby Morton is a comedy writer who has shared with the world that Boebert’s press secretary contacted him and ordered him to take down his website:

“Jake is the Press Secretary for @laurenboebert. Lauren told Jake to use his government email to send me a cease and desist order to take down my website, http://TheLaurenBoebert.com. Jake is not a lawyer. Jake is an idiot.”

Morton was also kind enough to share the email he received from Settle, in which he says the website “needs to be taken down since the photos on here are copyrighted property of the U.S. Federal Government.

“They are property of the office of Congressman Lauren Boebert, and use of them is unauthorized and illegal. Additionally, the entire website is a defamatory impersonation, and it goes against relevant terms of service and U.S. law. Please remove it immediately or face further action.”

Oh, no! Not “further action.” Anything but that!!

Have you ever noticed that conservatives and right-wingers have absolutely no sense of humor whatsoever? The right way to deal with the parody website would be to embrace it and have fun with the entire thing. But again, in order to do that, you need a sense of humor, and Lauren Boebert is only interested in guns and grifting.
