Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin went on an extended rant aimed at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) during an appearance on Fox News Monday evening that resulted in her being hilariously mocked and trolled online.

According to Newsweek, Palin was a guest on Fox News Primetime, where she told host Rachel Campos-Duffy that AOC appears to be obsessed with sex.

Asked about comments made by Ocasio-Cortez suggesting that Republican men are sexually obsessed with her, Palin remarked:

“Here her obsession, at least her suggestion, always gender and sex, I truly believe there are enough Americans who get it and understand what her tactic is. That is to deflect from what the real issues are.

“Okay, take this issue with her suggestion of dating and attraction to someone and blaming her failures on that, that obsession with sex.”

However, it was what Palin said next that sent the internet into spasms of laughter:

“Look how the liberals want to pound that into the public’s head, advertising who is attracted to who, what people do in the privacy of their own bedroom, all the things that have to do with privacy and sex, the liberals, not the conservatives, are the ones who pound, pound, pound after that.

“Obviously it is a tactic so that she doesn’t have to be held accountable, it sounds like she hasn’t been held accountable for much maybe her entire life.

“She doesn’t have that foundation of accountability and that public service heart that is so necessary in order to serve well and be accountable.”

Yeah, because conservatives never ever fixate on what people do in the privacy of their own bedroom, right, Sarah? For decades, the GOP has tried to codify discrimination based on who loves whom and who can get married legally in the United States.

That was all it took to set off a wave of mockery on Twitter:
