Jill Stein struck back at Hillary Clinton’s accusations that she is a Russian asset. Clinton accused Stein of being an asset of the Russians on David Plouffe’s podcast:

“That’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not because she’s also a Russian asset.”

By “giving it up” Clinton was referring to another possible 3rd party run by Stein. Some people claim that Stein’s candidacy and “peeling off” of votes that may have gone to Clinton in 2016 was one cause of her narrow electoral defeat.

Clinton’s accusations do not come without evidence. Stein attended a dinner and sat at a table with Vladimir Putin before the 2016 race. That same dinner was attended by General Michael Flynn, Trump’s disgraced Underling who is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of lying to investigators about Russian contacts and interactions.

There are also credible reports that Stein had help via at least one Russian ad in 2016 as well:

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein was the beneficiary of at least one of the Russian-bought political ads on Facebook that federal government officials suspect were intended to influence the 2016 election

It is unknown if there were other Russian sponsored ads.

Stein told CNN on Saturday that Clinton’s remarks “speaks to Hillary’s need to try to explain, perhaps to herself, why her campaign was not successful.”

Stein also spoke about ranked-choice voting, which she says would eliminate the possibility of foreign interference. Others disagree.

Clinton joined others (CNN, New York Times) in suggesting that another candidate was being “groomed” by Russia for possible use in 2020. Although she didn’t mention (the others did) candidate Tulsi Gabbard by name, many, including Gabbard herself, speculated that she was the candidate in question. Gabbard responded to all the accusations, including Clinton’s:

“Just two days ago, The New York Times put out an article saying that I’m a Russian asset and an Assad apologist and all these different smears,” Gabbard said. “This morning, a CNN commentator said on national television that I’m an asset of Russia — completely despicable.”

Gabbard has repeatedly been accused by Democrats of being a “puppet for the Russian government.” Gabbard – an anti-war activist who has accused the United States of waging a “regime change war” in Syria – has had to defend her 2017 meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the brutal dictator, throughout the campaign.

One must ask the question — are these legitimate accusations or is this a replay of the 2010 Senate race where GOP candidate Christine O’Donnell had to fight off charges of being a “witch?” — As if we were in colonial Salem, Massachusetts.

The claims may seem extraordinary but keep in mind Clinton lived through Russian election interference and tried to warn everyone then about what was happening — and was ignored primarily, before it was too late.

Check out Clinton back in 2016 warning us all. Is it possible she is trying to warn us again?
