With all of his talk about possibly serving more than two terms in office — despite the U.S. Constitution expressly prohibiting it — President Donald Trump appears to be hoping he’ll be crowned king of the United States and can then serve as long as he wishes.
How does King Donald sound to you?
On Saturday morning, Trump fired off two tweets quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson (by way of Peter Baker from the New York Times):
“Ralph Waldo Emerson seemed to foresee the lesson of the Senate Impeachment Trial of President Trump. ‘When you strike at the King, Emerson famously said, “you must kill him.’ Mr. Trump’s foes struck at him but did not take him down. A triumphant Mr.Trump emerges from the…..

Of course, Trump forgot to mention that while he wasn’t found guilty by the Senate and removed from office, he still remains impeached, and that black mark will forever be placed next to his name when the history books are written.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the president was also pilloried on social media:
For the last Fcking time…YOU ARE NOT A KING.

A few problems with your analogy:
1. YOU ARE NOT A KING
2. Murder is illegal
3. You were still IMPEACHED. That shit lasts forever.
4. It’s not “triumphant” when you hid the witnesses, threatened jurors, and half of them admitted that they knew you were guilty.— BrooklynDad_Defiant! (@mmpadellan) February 15, 2020

Except:
1. You are not a king.
2. You are not exonerated. You had the opportunity to exonerate yourself but, instead, chose to obstruct. Now you are forever impeached and never exonerated and you did that to yourself.
3. Whining is not a good campaign strategy.

The reason why you will ultimately fail, Tangerine Treasonweasel – you think you are a king.
You’re not – you’re our employee.
You’re impeached forever – an employee on probation about to receive his final decision in November.
