President Donald Trump is such a selfish jerk that he prevented Dr. Deborah Birx from attending to her own sick grandchild and is “glad to hear it” after she told the heartbreaking story.
During yet another one of Trump’s press conferences/campaign rallies this week, Birx stepped up to the podium to take more questions about the coronavirus pandemic and ended up sharing a personal story
“We need to take care of each other now as Americans. And I know they’re tough,” she said. “My grandchild of 10 months had a fever of 105 this weekend. I’m a doctor, and I couldn’t get there. So I’m trying to explain to my daughter how to listen to her lungs.”
That’s when Trump seriously displayed his heartlessness by interrupting and expressing glee that Birx could not help her infant granddaughter.
“You could not get there?” Trump asked.
“I could not go there!” Birx replied.
“Good, I’m glad to hear it,” Trump said.
“I did not go there, because of you two,” Birx responded in reference to Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. “I mean, you can’t take that kind of risk with leaders of the country.”
Here’s the video via Twitter:
After Dr. Birx tells a story about how she felt bad because social distancing prevented her from being there for her 10-month-old granddaughter who had a fever of 105 degrees last weekend, Trump jumps in to say: “You did not get there? Good, I’m very happy about that.” pic.twitter.com/zPC7MGOgG7

Not risking the health of government officials is a decent justification, but Trump made an inhumane remark proving that he lacks compassion and has no ability to empathize. In fact, he seemed happy about causing someone on his staff pain.
Just when you think Trump can’t sink any lower, he moves the bar down, down, down.
