CNN’s Jim Acosta hit Fox News hard over the weekend by calling the right-wing network a “bullsh*t factory” in response to all the lies it has told to smear President Joe Biden and his administration.
Acosta is known for his battles with disgraced former President Donald Trump as CNN’s White House correspondent. He fact-checked Trump so hard that Trump tried to bar him from press briefings and conferences.
Now Acosta anchors his own show, which he used on Saturday to blast Fox News in the wake of the many lies it has been pushing.
“We need to hit the pause button and address what has been another mind-boggling week in disinformation,” Acosta began, going on to reference the debunked lie that Biden is going to ban people from eating meat.
“But that didn’t matter to some on the far-right, the same bad-faith actors who are always peddling this bogus red meat,” Acosta continued. “What’s really sad is that even prominent Republicans are still repeating this even after the story was debunked. The top House Republican, Kevin McCarthy repeated the lie on Fox News after Biden’s speech to Congress.”
Indeed, Fox News anchor John Roberts even admitted on the air that the claim is a lie but his network is still repeating it and allowing guests to repeat it.
Fox News has also been falsely claiming that Vice President Kamala Harris’ book is being given to migrant children at the border.
“That tale from the border didn’t just border on BS, this was USDA Grade-A bullsht,” Acosta said. “And the (NY Post) reporter who wrote the story resigned, claiming she was forced to make it up. But the damage was done, pumped out over the airwaves at the bullsht factory also known as Fox News.”
“Now you may want to laugh this off, as the old saying goes, while the truth is still lacing up its boots but the lies these days are moving at the speed of light while spreading so much darkness,” Acosta concluded. “Remember, lies, big lies can have terrible consequences. Just four months ago we all witnessed the fallout about the ‘Big Lie’ about the election…and it should’ve served as a lesson on how lies can kill. They travel at the speed of light and spread too much darkness.”

Trump’s lies about the election incited the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th. Fox News and the GOP have still not been punished for their roles in the attempted coup to overthrow democracy. And they should be, just like Fox News should face consequences for their lies now. It’s time for Fox News to be banned here just like it’s banned in Canada and the United Kingdom.
