Former United Nations Ambassador and 2024 presidential wannabe Nikki Haley apparently forgot or conveniently ignored that disgraced Florida retiree Donald Trump negotiated with the Taliban as she attacked President Joe Biden this week.
The Taliban swiftly took over Afghanistan as American troops continue to withdraw from the country after 20 years of war. With thousands of Afghans and many Americans still left to evacuate, Biden is trying to buy them time by opening diplomatic channels with Taliban leaders.
But, of course, Republicans like Haley are jumping to attack him despite praising Trump’s negotiations.
To have our Generals say that they are depending on diplomacy with the Taliban is an unbelievable scenario. Negotiating with the Taliban is like dealing with the devil.

Clearly, Republicans want to forget that Trump and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo opened negotiations with the Taliban, resulting in 5,000 released Taliban fighters who are currently involved in the takeover and the release of the man who was recently installed in the presidential palace. Trump even invited the Taliban to meet with him at Camp David on the anniversary of 9/11, a slap in the face to all Americans. Oh, and Trump also signed the withdrawal order that Biden inherited.
Again, Biden is trying to buy more time for the evacuation effort, while Trump’s negotiations are to blame for the Taliban takeover, especially since he made a deal with them without involving the former Afghan government, thus legitimizing the Taliban and undermining the government.
