In a pathetic attempt to argue against passage of the Green New Deal, Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) tried to appropriate popular characters from the Scooby-Doo cartoon TV show, but only succeeded in proving that she knows even less than we suspected.
According to Mediaite, Greene began her presentation by pointing to a poster featuring an image of Fred Jones from the Scooby-Doo gang:
This is a simple meme that you would find on the internet,” Greene said, as she pointed to a large poster of Fred unmasking an unknown villain and revealing it to be the communist hammer and sickle that appeared on the Soviet flag.
“But this meme is very real. The Green New Deal — surprise — serves China and China only,” she said, pointing to the hammer and sickle.
However, the hammer and sickle is found on the flag of the former Soviet Union. It doesn’t appear anywhere on the Chinese flag.
An aide to Greene then held up a meme showing Xi Jinping, the president of China, saying, “I own Joe Biden.”

Is this what we’ve come to? Instead of actually debating issues in Congress, we just use a few memes and spread lies and conspiracy theories? If so, then the United States truly has been dumbed down to a level that should frighten every single American.
Greene was pelted with Twitter mockery and scorn for her asinine stunt:
Congress is no longer serious with people like this. https://t.co/tmE94IrWrl

Excuse me madam, do you have any proof the Green New Deal is a secret deal made on behalf of China?
Of course I do.
Could you please provide it?
