Former MSNBC host Chris Matthews of “Hardball” fame has suddenly reappeared after resigning under a cloud of controversy in March of 2020 for inappropriate comments he made about women.
On Sunday, Matthews posted this on Twitter:
I want Hardball fans to know how I appreciate your faith in me. 2022 could be a great time to show what we’ve learned. I tried to warn we were headed too far left.

Too far left? Really?! Matthews failed to spell out what constitutes being “too far left” in his narrow view of the American political scene. Is he upset that Joe Biden gave a tax cut to working parents and has been working to expand the social safety net Republicans have been trying to eliminate for decades?
Or maybe Matthews is somehow outraged that President Joe Biden is delivering on his campaign promises. Is that his problem?
Twitter users had some sharply-worded retorts to the Matthews tweet:
How, exactly, are we headed “too far left”??? You’re not worried that banning books, voter suppression, turning women in for $10,000 bounties, and doing nothing about climate devastation is too far RIGHT???

We went too far left by *checks notes* making insulin cheaper?

I missed the part where the Left launched a violent insurrection with the advanced planning and blessing of their twice-impeached sitting *President to kill his own VP and overturn the overwhelming results of a free and fair election to install a hereditary dictatorship.

I never understand this argument. Too far left? Wanting people to have universal healthcare like every other developed nation on the planet? Wanting seniors to have eye and hearing care? Wanting every citizen to be able to easily vote? WTAF?

Too far left:
*Healthcare
*Voting
*Education
