In what may well be a brilliant legal defense that doubles as masterful trolling, 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) are using former president Donald Trump’s own tweets to counter a lawsuit he filed  in March alleging that Democrats engaged in an “unthinkable plot” to make him look like he was a puppet for Russian president Vladimir Putin.

A 69-page motion filed by the defendants fighting Trump’s absurd lawsuit featured numerous citations to a “series of tweets” Trump sent out under his now-banned @RealDonaldTrump Twitter account.

Josh Gerstein, senior legal affairs correspondent for Politico noted:

“I’d also note this motion is one of many we’ve seen in the past six years or so trying to best Trump in court by using his own tweets against him, in this instance to show he understood the basic Russia allegations and who was pushing them back in 2016 and should’ve sued then.”

Bottom line, Gerstein added, is that the filing is a “drily humorous motion.”

Humorous? That’s certain to enrage Trump even further, as he seems to have little no sense of humor and also lacks the ability to laugh at himself.

Here’s the full rundown of Clinton and the DNC’s response to Trump’s lawsuit from Gerstein:

Six years after the 2016 election, it’s clear that Hillary still knows how to get Trump’s goat, and no matter how many lawsuits he files, there will always be suspicion that he is indeed a lackey for Putin.
