Legendary actor Robert Redford is calling upon voters to oust President Donald Trump and his supporters in Congress as the impeachment case against him continues to strengthen.

The impeachment inquiry has been an absolute disaster for Trump as he becomes so desperate that he is now trying to throw his lawyer Rudy Giuliani under the bus to save his own skin, a move that will likely trigger the release of more evidence by Giuliani, which he claimed to have during an interview on Fox News.

But even if Giuliani does release the evidence he supposedly has on Trump, Senate Republicans appear hell-bent on acquitting Trump regardless of how damning it or any of the other evidence and witness testimony is.

And because of that reality, it is up to the American people to play their part next November in 2020 by voting against Trump to oust him from office, thereby guaranteeing that Trump will be held accountable for his crimes one way or another.

That’s why Redford penned an op-ed for NBC News this week to make sure Americans know what is at stake and to ask them to show up on Election Day.

“We’re up against a crisis I never thought I’d see in my lifetime: a dictator-like attack by President Donald Trump on everything this country stands for,” Redford wrote. “As last week’s impeachment hearings made clear, our shared tolerance and respect for the truth, our sacred rule of law, our essential freedom of the press and our precious freedoms of speech — all have been threatened by a single man.”

Indeed, Trump has undermined or weakened every federal agency and department, including those crucial to our national security, all while profiting off the office and letting dictators around the globe walk all over us, particularly Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Short of impeachment, the only other way to oust Trump is to vote him and his supporters out.

“It’s time for Trump to go — along with those in Congress who have chosen party loyalty over their oath to “solemnly affirm” their support for the Constitution of the United States,” Redford continued. “We’re at a point in time where I reluctantly believe that we have much to lose — it is a critical and unforgiving moment. This monarchy in disguise has been so exhausting and chaotic, it’s not in the least bit surprising so many citizens are disillusioned.”

“There are only 11 months left before the presidential election; 11 months before we get our one real chance to right this ship and change the course of disaster that lies before us,” he concluded.

Redford has previously been criticized for giving Trump “a chance” as president, but like many other Americans no doubt, he has since changed his mind after witnessing Trump’s vile behavior and destructiveness. If enough Americans who feel the same way come to the polls next year, Trump is screwed and then we can all watch as he is prosecuted and finally held accountable.
