Bigoted attacks by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on the Equality Act bill making its way through Congress were shut down by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday.

The Equality Act is a long overdue civil rights bill that prohibits discrimination based on sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation. That means members of the LGBTQ community and women gain more protections in our society, which is a good thing. But Republicans like Greene claim that the bill is actually an attack on women and religious freedom, something conservatives have constantly used as a shield for hate.

As the House prepares to vote on the bill, Greene made a desperate motion to adjourn as if she believes she has the power to single-handedly dictate what the House does just as she believed she could impeach President Joe Biden all by herself.

Greene notoriously lost her committee assignments after the full House voted to strip them away from her due to her calls to assassinate Democrats and other outlandish and offensive statements and behavior unbecoming of a member of Congress, and because House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) didn’t have the balls to punish her himself.

In response to Greene’s tweet, Ocasio-Cortez fired back by inferring that Greene is lazy and doesn’t understand the bill.

She then vowed that the bill will pass.

And she’s right because Democrats have the House majority, not QAnon Republicans.
