White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki slammed right-wing media outlets as propagandists similar to those found in Chinese and Russian media.
Unlike the four press secretaries of the Trump administration who constantly lied to the American people over the last four years, Psaki has brought facts and honesty back to press briefings, earning herself high praise from real journalists, lawmakers and voters, something disgraced former Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is jealous over.
Psaki is also unafraid to call out right-wing reporters and their networks for being propagandists, which she did during a CNN interview over the weekend.
“The things that get under my skin are when the premise of a question is based on inaccurate information, misleading information. That can be frustrating,” Psaki said.
Indeed, Psaki and her deputies have repeatedly humiliated Fox News reporter Peter Doocy for asking those misleading questions.
“I also have a responsibility not to allow the briefing room to become a forum for propaganda or a forum for pushing forward falsehoods or inaccurate information,” Psaki continued. “My best preparation for that was actually serving as the state department spokesperson when there were representatives of the Russian and the Chinese media in the briefing room asking me questions that were directed by their government.”
Trump’s press secretaries frequently fawned over him and repeated demonstrable lies on his behalf, constantly pushing propaganda that resulted in them being compared to North Korean, Russian, and Chinese propagandists. Apparently, right-wing media is still emulating those propagandists.
“So we see that from time to time in the briefing room, not every single day at all, but I have a responsibility to the public to make sure they’re getting accurate information and the premises of questions that are propaganda-pushing are not giving them inaccurate information,” Psaki concluded.
Again, Trump’s press secretaries were terrible and none of them should be employable. Psaki is what a normal press secretary is supposed to be. It’s too bad right-wing reporters won’t act like real journalists instead of continuing to carry water for an ex-president who literally tried to overthrow democracy.
