QAnon Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Co.) had the gall to accuse a black congresswoman of being an “insurrectionist” for peacefully protesting in support of voting rights at the Capitol.

Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio) made headlines this week when Capitol Police hypocritically arrested her for engaging in peaceful protest demanding the United States Senate pass the For The People Act to protect voting rights across the country.

The arrest caused outrage because Capitol Police did not arrest any of the Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol on January 6th even though they brutally assaulted officers, vandalized property, searched for lawmakers to murder, and sought to overthrow democracy.

Arresting Beatty is unjust, but Boebert stirred further outrage by referring to her as an “insurrectionist” who should be locked up.

Again, Beatty was peacefully protesting and did nothing to justify being arrested. She certainly is not an insurrectionist. Boebert, however, is an insurrectionist who not only may have helped Trump supporters plan their attack on the Capitol, she also helped incite it and informed the insurrectionists about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) location as she was evacuated from the House floor. If anyone should be arrested and jailed for insurrection, it’s Boebert.

Americans took her to the woodshed in response.

By all rights, Boebert should be charged and prosecuted for her role in the insurrection. She live-tweeted Pelosi’s location as a violent right-wing mob searched for lawmakers to assassinate. Capitol Police should be arresting her, not Beatty.
