Rep. Lauren Boebert’s (R-Co.) live-tweeting of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) location during the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th took a more serious turn this week when the FBI arrested two women who sought to assassinate Pelosi that day.

Disgraced former President Donald Trump is currently being impeached for inciting the attempted coup, with his Senate trial scheduled to begin next month. But Boebert and several other Republican lawmakers are also responsible for the terrorist attack and should face consequences as well.

They not only encouraged the insurrectionists to do anything to overturn the election results, they may have helped them plan the attack by giving them reconnaissance tours of the Capitol building. Boebert has not only been accused of giving such a tour, but she also tweeted out Pelosi’s location as Trump’s domestic terrorists made their way inside with the intent to find and do harm to lawmakers.

Any of the terrorists in the building could have used Boebert’s tweet in their effort to find Pelosi. Luckily, there were two women inside the Capitol who did not see the tweets.

On Friday, the FBI arrested and charged Dawn Bancroft and Diana Santos-Smith for breaking into the Capitol that day. According to an affidavit, Bancroft sent a video to her kids bragging about her actions and admitted that she and her friend intended to murder Pelosi if they found her.

“We broke into the Capitol. . . . We got inside, we did our part,” Bancroft said. “We were looking for Nancy to shoot her in the friggin’ brain, but we didn’t find her.”

If they had been following Boebert’s Twitter and had taken part in a reconnaissance tour, they may have very well found Pelosi that day and she would have been injured or killed.

This is precisely why Republicans like Boebert should be expelled from Congress and arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It is obvious that her tweet put Pelosi in danger. If Boebert had had any knowledge of where Pelosi was taken after she was escorted from the House floor, would she have continued providing updates on her location? We can’t know that for sure. But what we do know if that Boebert and other Republicans incited the insurrection and aided the terrorists in any way they could. They tried to get their colleagues murdered, and Republican leaders refuse to hold them accountable. There can be no unity and bipartisan cooperation until justice is served.
