Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.) humiliated himself on Monday by demanding that the 25th Amendment be invoked against President Joe Biden.
After four years of Scott and Republicans ignoring disgraced Florida retiree Donald Trump’s volatile and downright unpresidential behavior without even once suggesting the use of the 25th Amendment to remove him from office, Scott has the gall to suggest using it to remove Biden just because the Taliban took over Afghanistan, a takeover that was facilitated by Trump himself.
After the disastrous events in Afghanistan, we must confront a serious question: Is Joe Biden capable of discharging the duties of his office or has time come to exercise the provisions of the 25th Amendment? https://t.co/l1bFrUdZH9

Biden has only been in office for seven months and was left a mess in Afghanistan by Trump, who negotiated the American withdrawal with the Taliban and even helped free— along with 5,000 Taliban fighters— the man who was recently installed as the ruler of the war-torn country.
Yet Republicans are desperately trying to hang the blame for Afghanistan’s fall on Biden’s head. Calling for invoking the 25th Amendment is especially outrageous since Republicans refused to remove Trump from office despite his attempt to overthrow democracy, his reckless handling of the pandemic, his fealty to Vladimir Putin, and multiple other scandals including his desire to use military force against American citizens. Scott apparently had no concerns about any of that.
Rick Scott is also one of the GOP senators who voted against certifying the 2020 Election. He’s in Trump’s pocket so of course, he would pull a stunt like this, only it backfired because Americans laughed at him.

“Getting out of Afghanistan is a wonderful and positive thing to do,” Trump said in April of this year. “I planned to withdraw on May 1st, and we should keep as close to that schedule as possible.”

Propaganda alert: Rick Scott delivers donor-driven talking points to rile the base. There is nothing in this tweet that is the rhetoric of a responsible sitting US Senator.

Joe is 100% competent. How’s Florida doing these days? Not so great.

Trump was the one who was incapable of discharging the duties of the presidency. He should have been removed from office early on. And Scott should be removed from the Senate now because he’s never been fit to hold any office.
