According to National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien, President Donald Trump works 16 to 18 hours day while taking the dangerous anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine.
During an appearance on “Face the Nation,” Sunday, O’Brien was asked by host Margaret Brennan if Trump might have created a major national security risk by taking the controversial drug, which the president has hailed as some sort of miracle cure for coronavirus, even though studies show it carries far more risk than benefit:
“Is there a national security risk for the commander-in-chief to be taking a medication that the FDA warns the public that there is risk of having heart problem?”
Rather than actually respond to the question, O’Brien said Trump is taking the drug “in close consultation with his physician.” He then added:
“I think the president is under great medical care. And I think he’s doing the right thing that he and his physician believe is good for the president.”
Of course, we have zero evidence that Trump is actually taking the drug, and considering how much the current president lies, it’s usually safe to assume that truth is actually the opposite of what he claims.
But it was what O’Brien said next that sounded like little more than conspicuous, sycophantic ass kissing:
“I’m not concerned about his health. The guy has got more energy than anyone I’ve ever seen. He works 16, 18 hours a day. So I don’t see any change in his strong performance as a result of whatever health regimen he’s under.”
Donald Trump works 16 to 18 hours a day? Since when? There have been reports that he doesn’t even arrive at the Oval Office some days after 12 Noon. Now if you call watching Fox News and rage tweeting work, then maybe that 16 to 18 hour figure would be accurate.
As for Trump’s health, it’s clear that he’s grossly overweight. He’s also 73 years old. He never exercises and eats like a teenager, filling himself with fast food fare such as Big Macs and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Does that sound healthy to you?
Also, it should be noted that Trump is now six months overdue for his annual physical. If he’s such a excellent specimen of health, why is he ducking his medical exam? Something doesn’t add up here, and it’s not just the ridiculous work schedule Director O’Brien claimed in national television.
